The National Music Publisher's Association has decided to join Football Association Premier League, Viacom and others, in a lawsuit against YouTube.  According to the NY Times:

The plaintiffs say YouTube is breaking the law by carrying video clips for which the plaintiffs hold copyrights. YouTube says it is complying with the law by immediately taking down any clips found to be violating copyrights after receiving notification.

Uh oh.  Is Lily Allen in trouble?  The British pop tartlet was detained at LAX on Sunday and eventually stripped of her work visa, which could seriously jeopardize her September tour dates in the States.   Of course, Allen's figureheads are denying that U.S. fans have anything to worry about.  Her manager, Neale Easterby, had this to say:

"It's rubbish. There's no story; it's all good. She's in Las Vegas right now, and she will be there until Thursday shooting a video with Common

MTV announced today the nominees for the 2007 Video Music Awards.  This is mostly newsworthy because I was under the impression that MTV no longer played music videos.  I spend a pretty good amount of time flipping through TV stations and it never fails: MTV is always playing a marathon of either My Super Sweet 16 or Parental Control.  The last time I checked, spoiled rich kids and creepy parents who watch their kids make out with strangers does not a music video make.  Well

Dance music-makin' robot-duo, Daft Punk, only have a few more shows left on the roster of their world tour and they'd like to use one of the dates to the advantage of some lucky concert-goers.  They've put out a calling for people to film their Brooklyn show in order to use the footage in their upcoming music video. 

I'm not from Brooklyn, so I'm obviously a little hurt that Daft Punk has chosen to exclude me.  I mean, I write them all of those letters and they come from the heart.  I never get a response and I understand
