What is the Vlaze StreamFest web stream?

Imagine an always-on, always-free, and always-entertaining web channel offering the best in never-before-seen film. We already have what we consider to be the best music channel in the world; now Vlaze wants to create a film channel devoted to you--the truly independent filmmaker of today.

The future of film is yours--please allow us to introduce you to your audience.

Vlaze Streamfest is a FEE-FREE film festival. You've spent enough money just making your film. Allow us to show it to the world.

1) Narrative Short fictional shorts, less than 25 minutes
2) Narrative Feature fictional features, longer than 25 minutes; less than 120 minutes
3) Documentary Short documentary shorts, less than 25 minutes
4) Documentary Feature documentary features, longer than 25 minutes; less than 120 minutes
5) Animation animated films, any genre, any length
6) Super Short Shoot Out films less than 2 minutes long; any genre

All films submitted to the first five categories will be eligible to win our Vlaze Streamfest Best of 2007 grand prize of $5,000.

The Super Short Shoot Out category (films less than 2 minutes) have a separate Best of 2007 prize of $250.

SUBMISSION DETAILS:
Please submit your film in one of the following two formats:

            1) DV Tape, or
            2) DVD-Video [NTSC; Region 0 or 1]

*We prefer films to be in English, but other languages are welcome if subtitled.

*A press kit is requested but not required. We prefer digital press kits, but paper is welcome as well.

*Filmmakers are welcome to submit multiple films.

*When mailing your submission, you MUST specify to which category your film belongs.

MORE DETAILS:
All films submitted, regardless of category, will be showcased as view-on-demand content on Vlaze and possibly featured on the official Vlaze StreamFest web stream.

We will accept films for our Best of 2007 until the November 15th final deadline.

At any time and for any reason, you the filmmaker may request that your film be removed from our site and withdrawn from consideration.

All content will be judged via a combination of web hits and audience ratings. Films ranking high in either category (or otherwise judged worthy by Vlaze) will be added to the Vlaze StreamFest web stream.

The top 30 films will be announced December 15th. We will then begin the process to determine the Vlaze Streamfest Best of 2007 winner and the Super Short Shoot Out winner.  Our panel will be made up of industry insiders here in Los Angeles, our own internal review panel, and audience opinion (web hits, ranking, comments).

Winners will be announced Monday, January 7th 2008.

By submitting your film to our contest, you are allowing us to place your film on our site, and broadcast it as part of a live video stream. However, simply submitting your film does not guarantee our broadcasting or archiving your film. Furthermore, by submitting your film, you are asserting that you possess legal ownership of the film and have gained all needed permission for anything and anybody used in your film.
