Undeniably a part of Cali's hiphop foundation, rap soldiers the Living Legends have brought us more of their captivating skills on "Classic". Currently touring, the legends have been able to maintain solidarity as a group while frequently venturing out on side projects that produce equally intriguing work. The Living Legends crew consists of founders Luckyiam (aka PSC) and Sunspot Jonz (aka BFAP) as well as Murs, Eligh, The Grouch, Aesop the Black Wolf, Arata, Scarub and Bicasso. Sunspot Jonz and Luckeyiam formed the Mystic Journeymen in the early '90's. Murs, Scarub and Eligh, were meanwhile living in LA as the 3 Melancholy Gypsys. They all ended up in the Bay Area where the Living Legends would be formed. The huge crew is also one of the longest standing ones, with large followings that originated in California but have spread internationally.
With their recent release "Classic", the Living Legends have remained true to their trademark style. I recently saw the Legends in Solana Beach, CA. Damn. That was a show. Ripping through favorites off of "Almost Famous", "Crappy Old Shit", "Creative Differences" and the upcoming "Classic", Living Legends took the stage for the better part of two hours. Eligh was holding it down, speed rappin' like a mutha. Him and Grouch joined to complete their increasingly unstoppable duo. They also did some Mystic Journeymen cuts like "Mercury Rising", hell yeah. Sunspot Jonz was making moves doing at least two stage dives. The crowd was like a trampoline, there was energy all over the place. LL crew fans don't let it die.
