Known as "The Quentin Tarantino of music videos" & "The KING of Street Videos", & simply known by the stage name Director Hugo V., is a director of Mexican descent out of Los Angeles California. Also known in the Los Angeles underground Hip-Hop/Rap scene as a producer/song writer.
Director Hugo V. grew up in South Central Los Angeles. A fan of music and movies he decided to pursue a career in entertainment. Hugo V. interned, then later worked at such entertainment/media companies as MCA, Universal, Warner Bros.,CBS and others.
In 2003 Hugo V. graduated from the University of Southern California (USC).
Soon after graduating from USC, Hugo V. directed, produced and chief financed the music video for “Los Angeles (The Anthem)” by O.Brown & B-REAL of Cypress Hill. The video included cameos from The Bishop Don Juan and Mellow Man Ace. The video was a huge underground hit and was considered for nomination at the Los Angeles Music Awards. Furthermore, along with the video being aired on MusicPlus TV, La Onda TV, IMF and Mun2 TV, the video has received more than 100,000 views on YouTube and equally on MySpace.

After the success of the “Los Angeles (The Anthem)” video, Hugo V. once again teamed up with O.Brown and B-Real of Cypress Hill for another music video. Less than a year later Hugo V. directed, produced and financed the music video for “Sliding In The Whip”. The song was produced by B-Real. The video also features Mellow Man Ace (remember the hit “Mentirosa”?) brother of Cypress Hill member Sen-Dog; collectively known as The Reyes Brothers. The video also features cameos from Glasses Malone, D.J. Warrior and members of both Psycho Realm and Cypress Hill.
Once completing “Sliding In The Whip” for O.Brown & B-Real, Hugo V. directed a video for the song by the hard-core rock/rap hybrid group out of South Gate known as N.M.E. None other than guitarist Dino Cazares formerly of Fear Factory, Brujeria & Assesino, produced the song for the group! Sen-Dog of Cypress Hill appears in a skit at the beginning of the music video. The video “Awaken” pays homage to the Evil Dead films directed by Sam Raimi.

Gaining notoriety, Director Hugo V. was soon given the opportunity to work with Trenseta, one of raps most talked about M.C.’s, known as the “Lebron James of Rap” and featured in The Source Magazine “Unsigned Hype” article. Hugo V. directed the music video for the song “Fill Your Cup” by Trenseta, E.Crimsin and Flossy.
Hugo V. has just shot the video for "Respect My Career" by B-Real's protege' O.Brown. The video was once again, written, directed & financed by Hugo V. The track was produced by reknown hip-hop producer Trackdilla. Trackdilla has worked with such artists as Busta Ryhmes, Sean Paul & Lil' Zane.
