Formula Redux
consists of Brian Eusse (vocalist/founder), Andres Auad (keyboard/guitarist), Harry Varela (keyboard/producer), and Raul Rio (DJ Dino, drummer). Lead vocalist and founder, Brian Eusse, has always had a great love for electronic music of the 80s as well as the more contemporary synth bands from Europe. Both have served as the inspiration that would later on, lead him to start a solo project in 1999. Utilizing his knowledge of music, Eusse began to experiment with various electronic pop sounds, which would later become the basis for the bands sound. Long time friend, Andres Auad would join Eusse in the project, as would another friend of Auad's, later on. The trio would go on to play several live shows, and record more tracks before shortly becoming a duo once more and adopting the name Formula. Eusse and Auad would find themselves crossing paths with Harry Varela, who at the time of their encounter was involved in a project of his own. But while Varelas project was more influenced by the underground synth bands of the 80s, Eusse and Auads earlier sound included guitars and live bass. Coincidently, Varela's band was set to play with Formula however, that performance never occurred but there was an instant camaraderie formed between Varela, Eusse and Auad. There was such a strong musical bond that the three decided to come together and experiment with a new sound. The year 2004 would bring yet another member to the group. The drummer from Varelas earlier project, Raul Rio a.k.a. DJ Dino, would be the final piece of the puzzle. In addition to providing a rock-steady rhythm, Dino brings a DJs feel to the danceable tracks during the bands song-writing sessions. Formula would find themselves having to change their name after being informed that there already existed a band by the same name. Without wanting to lose the fan base that they had already established with the name Formula, they simply added the Redux, and thus Formula Redux was born. With their 16 channel digital recorder and their very simple setup the four would go on to record new material as well as updating some older songs. Though the quality was not to where the group felt it needed to be, the potential was inarguably there. Slowly but surely Formula Redux became a regular part of the Miami nightclub circuit playing at the different clubs, often repeatedly, until they managed to save enough money to upgrade their equipment. Three years down the road, and countless remakes later, the band finally found their own unique sound. A sound they were confident would set them apart from all the other groups out there. By combining an 80s feel with harder edged dance beats and melodic vocals, Formula Redux managed to stand out and leave an impression wherever they would play live. In 2004, the band released their first full-length demo CD titled Altered States, and would embark on their first tour taking them outside of their hometown of Miami, FL to New York, New Jersey, and Puerto Rico where there music has received positive feedback and much support. Fortune smiled on the group when manger Joe Blanco presented them to Joe Granda, President/CEO of Angel Eyes Music Group LLC part of The Granda Group of Companies, who immediately took interest in the group because of their unique and original sound. The group found themselves signing a management contract with Granda Entertainment as well as a recording contract. Once their recordings were complete, Joe Granda took the project to the President of Universal Music Latino, John Echevarria, who was so impressed with what he heard, that Formula Redux was immediately signed to the major record label. Their debut album, recorded in both English and Spanish, were release in June 2006 (Spanish "Mundo Ciego") as a CD/DVD. It includes their first single and music video, Water/Agua. The All English Album was also release in October 2006. Both Albums produce 3 hit singles in both languages along with the videos also both in English and Spanish.Agua/Water, Sangra En Mi/Silver and the power ballad Tormenta/Stormy Grace. The group tour on a very limited basis due to some illness within the group. Formula redux is now recording their second album due out in the fall/winter of 2007 and it will be fallow by a major tour worldwide.
