President-elect Barack Obama announced Monday specifics on his plan to revive the current economic slump. At the top of the proposal is about 300-billion-dollars worth of tax cuts for middle-class individuals and businesses that keep work domestic and avoid layoffs. According to a Democratic Party representative, Obama is set to deliver an economic speech on Thursday.
The nationally televised Miss America will be going green this January. At least, Miss Vermont, announced over the weekend that she plans to wear an environmentally friendly gown for the pagent. Ashley Ruth Wheeler said her dress is constructed from hemp, organic cotton and silk as well as recycled lace and beads.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs reportedly released a letter to the Apple Community on Monday explaining his weightloss, after months of public speculation on his health. Jobs said that doctors found he has a hormone imbalance, and that although he will not be headlining the Macworld conference in San Francisco this year, he will remain as the company's Chief Executive. This is the first year since Apple's 1997 bounce-back that Jobs has not lead the development conference.
