Description

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Owens once again had the national spotlight with a Monday Night Football game against his former team the Philadelphia Eagles. Not that he needed any more incentive to play well, but T.O. notified us in advance to get the popcorn ready...then proceeded to put on another show!

This time was special. Owens surpassed Chris Carter becoming the NFL's second leading receiver to score touchdowns. Jerry Rice is the only pass catcher that has scored more touchdowns that T.O. and that alone puts Owens into exclusive Hall of Fame company.

Critics will say he is cocky, selfish and immature. Owens will counter with one word that describes himself and one word only--great. Perhaps the greatest of all time. Most NFL fans and media have been reluctant to acknowledge Owens' accomplishments due to his disruptive behavior in the locker room.

His comments to the media have been portrayed in a not so positive light. His image is not that of a hero but as a villain. He is the one player that many hate to see succeed. That is what makes watching him play such an event. There are just as many people cheering him on as there are rooting against him. He is the J.R. Ewing of the NFL and his ratings have soared even higher since he landed his new role in Dallas.

Terrell may not have the pop star girlfriend that quarterback Tony Romo has, but T.O. has definitely scored in more ways than one! All that is left for him to achieve is team success, that elusive super bowl ring. When asked what he would like to see the team accomplish this season, Owens stated he would be happy with a playoff win. One playoff win? Considering the Dallas Cowboys haven't had ONE since 1996 that would be yet another major accomplishment for the star in Big D.
